Typographical Errors
In the event that a A Friend in the Islands product is mistakenly listed at an incorrect price, A Friend in the Islands reserves the right to refuse or cancel any orders placed for product listed at the incorrect price. A Friend in the Islands reserves the right to refuse or cancel any such orders whether or not the order has been confirmed and your credit card charged. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is cancelled, A Friend in the Islands shall issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the incorrect price.
Term; Termination
These terms and conditions are applicable to you upon your accessing the site and/or completing the registration or shopping process. These terms and conditions, or any part of them, may be terminated by A Friend in the Islands without notice at any time, for any reason. The provisions relating to Copyrights, Trademark, Disclaimer, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification and Miscellaneous, shall survive any termination.

A Friend in the Islands may assign its rights and duties under this Agreement to any party at any time without notice to you.
Use of Site
Harassment in any manner or form on the site, including via e-mail, chat, or by use of obscene or abusive language, is strictly forbidden. Impersonation of others, including a A Friend in the Islands or other licensed employee, host, or representative, as well as other members or visitors on the site is prohibited. You may not upload to, distribute, or otherwise publish through the site any content which is libelous, defamatory, obscene, threatening, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, abusive, illegal, or otherwise objectionable which may constitute or encourage a criminal offense, violate the rights of any party or which may otherwise give rise to liability or violate any law. ISLAND GIFT SHOP SHIPPING & RETURN POLICIES
You must agree to the shipping and return policies below to place an order with our services for island products. By placing your order with our services you are agreeing to our policies. These policies do not apply to fresh leis, fresh orchid accessories, fresh ti leaves, fresh pineapples, or fresh papaya orders.
ENJOY HAWAIIAN TREASURES IN JUST DAYS!
We will send you an email order confirmation once your order has been reviewed, typically within 24 hours. Orders are subject to product availability. If an item is out of stock you will be notified and given the option to cancel your order or wait until the item is available. Prices and products are subject to change.
PAYMENT BY CREDIT CARD
Orders paid by credit card are typically mailed within 48 hours as long as items are in stock, unless a future delivery date is requested.
PAYMENT BY CHECK
Orders paid for by check are not shipped until the check clears. Checks should be received no later than 3 weeks prior to when you would like to receive the item to ensure there is enough time for the check to clear and the order shipped. PLEASE NOTE: We do not accept starter checks. Checks must have at least a name printed on it by the issuing bank.
SHIPPING
We only ship within the USA. Prices posted our Island Gift Shop include shipping within the USA by US Postal Service Priority Mail with delivery confirmation unless other wise noted. Orders are typically received within 5-10 days for delivery from the time of ordering. Please note USPS Priority Mail is not a service that the US Postal Service guarantees a specific delivery time on. For orders which require guaranteed delivery in less than 10 days should request Express shipping to ensure the order is received in time. USPS Express and Fedex Express shipping is available upon request for an additional shipping charge. Call 1-888-256-4214 to request a quote or add express shipping to your order.
MILITARY ADDRESS SHIPMENTS
Fresh leis, fresh orchid accessories, fresh ti leaves, fresh pineapples, fresh papaya are not available for shipment to APO, AE, or FPO addresses. For all other product shipments return receipt for merchandise is used for APO and FPO addresses because these addresses are not able to utilize the delivery confirmation option. APO and FPO addresses add $6 to your order total.
OPTIONAL INSURANCE ON SHIPMENTS
We package your island treasures well for shipping but we are not responsible for any damage caused during shipping. You may request to add insurance on your shipment for (based on total value of order) up to $100 an additional $2, $100.01 to $200 an additional $3, $200.01 to $500 an additional $5.
EXPRESS SHIPPING
For orders which require guaranteed delivery in less than 10 days should request Express shipping to ensure the order is received in time. USPS Express and Fedex Express shipping is available upon request for an additional shipping charge. Call 1-888-256-4214 to request a quote or add express shipping to your order. Rush orders should be called into our office to ensure it can be fulfilled in time and to receive a quote including express shipping and rush order fees. A Friend in the Islands does not guarantee a specific delivery date utilizing ANY delivery service through any company because the on time guarantees are through the specific carrier service making the delivery. We guarantee we will ship your order when we are told by the carrier (USPS or Fedex) that we need to in order to get your order to you when you request but once it is handed over to a carrier the responsibility for the delivery becomes that of the carrier. A Friend in the Islands will not be liable for any delay or non-delivery due to:
Incorrect or insufficient address information provided with order.
Extreme local or national weather conditions/ disasters (ice, snow, earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, tornadoes).
National or local disruptions in air or ground transportation networks due to events beyond our control, such as strikes or extreme weather conditions that present a danger to company personnel.
Damage or theft of order by the delivery service chosen. (Insurance is available for order shipments upon request to cover such events.)
Your order is stolen after it has been scanned as delivered by the carrier (like USPS or Fedex)
We, A Friend in the Islands, and any shipping company are not responsible for consequential losses due to loss, damage, or delay of order shipments.
ORDERS FOR HEAT SENSITIVE ITEMS LIKE CHOCOLATES AND CANDIES
Please note heat sensitive items like, those coated in chocolate, may arrive slightly melted. This DOES NOT effect the taste of the product. To reharden melted chocolates we recommend refrigerating for an hour. PURCHASING ITEMS WITH CHOCOLATES IS A FINAL SALE. ABSOLUTELY NO RETURNS, REFUNDS, OR EXCHANGES will be given for heat sensitive items which arrive melted since this is beyond our control. We will only ship them at your own risk.
ORDERS PLANT CUTTINGS AND SEEDS
Plant cuttings and seeds to grow plants found in Hawaii are a final sale once shipped due to they are perishable items. Our plant cuttings and seeds are rotated on a weekly basis so that our customers get the freshest cuttings and seeds possible for the best growing results. They are shipped at your own risk and we do not offer any refunds or exchanges or replacements if your plant cuttings or seeds do not grow. ORDERS BULK FRESH SEED SNACKS, SEA SNACKS, AND CRACKER SNACKS
The bulk fresh seed, sea, and cracker snack items are purchased from our supplier at the time of your order to ensure you get the freshest products. Because of this items featured on this page are not returnable and stock is subject to availability.
ORDERS FOR FOREVER LEIS AND ACCESSORIES
Silk leis and silk accessories are sprayed with a fire retardant which also helps to keep the flower edges from fraying. It is not recommended that silk flower leis and accessories be washed. Forever leis and accessories can be returned within 30 days of receipt at your own expense as long as they are returned in UNWORN resellable condition. The refund would be the cost of the unworn leis returned minus the cost of the shipping to send the order. Forever leis and accessories which have been worn and/or washed will not be accepted as returns. Any forever leis or accessories that are attempted to be returned in a worn or washed condition will be returned back to you at your own expense.
IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE YOUR ORDER WITHIN A WEEK
Orders ship by US Postal Service Priority Mail which should arrive within 5-10 days anywhere in the USA once shipped. If you do not receive your order within 10 days from the date you receive your personalized order confirmation email then we request you notify us by phone or email. We ship with delivery confirmation and are able to verify if it is still in transit or if we need to file a missing package claim. We have been advised by the US Postal Service that if a package shipped by US Postal Service Priority Mail still shows in transit after 10 days we must wait 30 days before filing a missing package claim just in case they miss-sorted the package. You will not be responsible for any costs if the Post Office does not have confirmation of delivery of the package. If the delivery confirmation shows your package was delivered you will need to file a missing package claim with your local post office since they show it was delivered. Stealing US Mail is a Federal crime and if a package is stolen a US Postal Inspector will be assigned to investigate the theft. A refund would only be provided upon the completion of the investigation done by the Postal Inspector and if they determine the package was stolen.
RETURN POLICY
Although we can't imagine anyone wanting to return treasures from Hawaii but if your item is not as you expected it may be returned at your expense within 30 days of receipt. The item(s) being returned must be unused, unopened, re-sellable condition. You will be refunded the purchase price minus the actual cost of shipping to originally send it.

ORDERS SHIPPED TO AN ALTERNATE ADDRESS
Since our customers typically place their orders by secure on line order form or by telephone we are not able to verify cardholder signatures. To protect cardholders from fraud we perform a security confirmation check on all orders.
SECURITY POLICY
We take extra precautions to protect credit card holders from credit card fraud. We require full billing name, address, and contact telephone number information and perform security confirmation checks on all credit card transactions. If the information does not match that of the credit card provider we will contact the cardholder to reconfirm the information. We are unable to fulfill requests which do not pass the security confirmation check. All suspicious credit card transactions are reported to the merchant credit card fraud department to investigate.
