Large Hawaiian Warrior Helmet
This Hawaiian icon is known by several names; Ikaika Helmet, Makini, and Hawaiian Warrior Helmets. Ikaika means strong in Hawaiian and Makini refers to helmet used by ancient Hawaiian canoemen. These are miniature versions of the helmets made from large carved gourds worn in ancient Hawaiian time. Today they are popular to add to a Hawaiian theme décor or to hang a car from the rear view mirror as a talisman as seen on the popular TV show Dog the Bounty Hunter.  

There are two sizes available and a discount is offered when you puchase a set of one large and one small Hawaiian warrior helmet:
Shown on this page is the Large Warrior Helmet with a coconut shell helmet approx. 5" in height with natural brown color feathers.

Also available in our island gift shop is a Small Hawaiian Warrior Helmet with a wooden helmet approx. 1" in height with natural colored feathers.
