In Hawaii Ti plants are believed to be lucky and keep away evil spirits. It is customary to plant a ti plant outside your home to bring good luck to the home. In ancient Hawaiian times and even still today the leaves of the ti leaves are used to cook with as well as are used to make leis and even hula skirts! Ti plants are an easy to grow hearty plant that can be grown indoors or outdoors. There are two log cuttings per package. The log cuttings are of the stalk and have no stems or leaves on them.

Please note TI PLANT LOG CUTTINGS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR SHIPMENT TO ARIZONA due to Arizona state import restrictions on ti. Ti plants log cuttings comes with no leaves on them and wax coating on each end of the cutting that needs to be scraped off with a knife once received. Before planting the ti cutting logs need to be soaked in water until the roots shoot out about 2 inches. This takes approx. 2-3 weeks before they are ready to plant. Change the water every couple of days. Once the roots develop they are ready to plant. If planting outdoors, plant in a sunny location. If planting indoors place Ti cutting log with sprout up about 2/3’s deep into the culture pot, the log should be partially covered with planting media to keep from drying out. Fertilize with a general fertilizer once a month. Water every 2-3 days. It can take 4 months to a year before your cutting will become leafy depending on the climate and fertilizer.
